Student Government

So yesterday was the first official meeting of the Student Government Association’s Senate. This will be my third year in the Senate [[just one of the branches of the SGA, along with the Finance Board, Student Organization Advocates, Executive, and Judicial branches]]. The meeting ended up going pretty long [[2.5 hours as opposed to the normal 1.5]] but it went very well. We were able to confirm the President’s executive appointments, and I was elected Assistant Speaker of the Senate. We began talking about various project we want to do this year, including a senior gift, checking campus security, making the Stress Free Zone bigger and better, and getting more outdoor recreational equipment on campus. Overall, I think that the Senate is filled with passionate, hardworking people this year and I think that we will be an extremely successful body.
